According to data released by Cambodia’s Ministry of Commerce, the country’s beauty and cosmetic product imports exceeded USD 130 million in 2025, marking a year-on-year growth of approximately 1.67%. Imported products include lotions, perfumes, makeup items, and bath products. However, industry insiders note that official figures may only reflect part of the market. Due to frequent smuggling and informal import channels, the actual size of the cosmetic market could be significantly larger than reported. Sources revealed that some traders import products under the label of “souvenirs” through personal carriage, bringing cosmetics directly from China, neighboring countries, as well as South Korea and Japan. These practices have further expanded the circulation of beauty products in the local market. As consumer demand for beauty and personal care products continues to rise, official import data may only capture part of market activity, and the industry’s full potential remains subject to further evaluation.
