On April 3, 2026, Cambodia’s Ministry of Post and Telecommunications held a graduation ceremony in Phnom Penh for a digital transformation training program aimed at small and medium enterprises, awarding certificates to participants. A total of 422 participants from 249 companies completed the program, which authorities said would help improve business competitiveness. The ministry highlighted that SMEs play a crucial role in Cambodia’s economy, contributing to local industry development and overall economic growth. Officials encouraged businesses to adopt digital technologies to enhance operational efficiency and resilience, emphasizing its importance for the transition to a digital economy. The government plans to support startups through incubation programs, providing technical and financial assistance, while also offering training with a focus on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. In addition, a digital technology center is being planned to offer co-working spaces, training facilities, and opportunities for industry collaboration. Authorities also urged businesses to leverage digital platforms to expand operations and accelerate progress toward long-term national development goals.
