Several travelers from Cambodia and India have recently been denied entry at Thai airports, drawing public attention. Some were reportedly held overnight at immigration facilities and required to immediately purchase return tickets while paying about 1,000 baht in service fees.

According to travelers interviewed by local media, they were not given clear explanations and were asked to wait in a designated room before being informed that they must return to their departure country. Some believe the situation may be related to recent tensions along the Cambodia–Thailand border.

The incident has created additional financial burdens for travelers, including the cost of unexpected return flights and extra fees, while also disrupting travel plans and work schedules. Similar cases have reportedly occurred multiple times in recent months.

Some Chinese tourists traveling from Cambodia to Thailand also reported facing stricter immigration checks upon arrival.

Meanwhile, certain intermediaries on social media platforms have circulated claims that Thailand is conducting stricter inspections on travelers departing from Cambodia, Laos, and the Philippines, with tighter scrutiny for Chinese passport holders and some third-country passports.

Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism has not yet issued an official statement. Local travel agencies advise travelers to confirm visa requirements and ensure all travel documents are prepared before departing for Thailand.
