On the evening of February 24, the Kandal Provincial Court announced that influencer and cosmetics entrepreneur Love Riya has been granted bail following a legally effective court judgment. She will no longer remain in detention. The court stated that Love Riya was sentenced to two years in prison for related offenses. However, based on the circumstances of the case and relevant legal provisions, the actual term of imprisonment was set at 6 months and 9 days. After completing the required detention period, she was legally allowed to continue the remaining procedures outside custody. Earlier, rumors circulated online claiming she had already been released. On February 23, Kandal provincial police clarified that she was still in pre-trial detention at that time and had not been freed. Authorities also explained that photos circulating online showing her in prison clothing were taken while she was escorted by prison officials to a hospital for a medical check-up with court approval. The images were not related to her release. Officials further confirmed that she was found to be pregnant about one week after being detained. According to available information, Love Riya was placed in temporary detention on August 15, 2025. Prosecutors charged her with “incitement to commit a crime” and “damaging the reputation of the military.” The case stemmed from her social media posts concerning the Cambodia–Thailand border issue and discussions about Thai products. Authorities stated that the content was considered potentially provocative and capable of affecting public sentiment and the military’s image.
