Phnom Penh authorities have taken firm disciplinary action against a traffic police officer who seriously violated national police regulations and has now been officially dismissed from the force.

The officer involved, Shen Suping, previously served as deputy leader of the second traffic command unit under the Phnom Penh Municipal Police Department. On January 20, 2026, the Ministry of Interior issued a formal decision to remove him from the national police service.

The ministry said the move reflects efforts to strengthen professional ethics and enforce strict discipline. Officials stressed that any behavior violating police regulations, breaking the law, or damaging the image of the force will be handled strictly in accordance with legal procedures.

Authorities added that supervision and internal management will continue to be reinforced to safeguard the credibility of the police and maintain public trust.
