The notorious Ming Family crime syndicate, based in Myanmar’s Kokang region, has officially been dismantled. According to the Wenzhou Intermediate People’s Court in China’s Zhejiang Province, 11 key members of the Ming Family syndicate have been executed, after being convicted in a massive case involving over RMB 100 billion in gambling and telecom fraud funds. Authorities revealed that the syndicate had long controlled casinos, real estate, mining, and large-scale scam operations in northern Myanmar. Multiple fraud and gambling compounds were established, at one point involving nearly 10,000 scam-related personnel, primarily targeting Chinese citizens. Investigations confirmed that the group also carried out illegal detention and violent abuse of scam workers, resulting in the deaths of 14 Chinese nationals and injuries to many others. After multiple trials and a final review by China’s Supreme People’s Court, the death sentences were approved, citing clear evidence and extremely serious crimes. With the executions carried out, the Ming Family syndicate has been declared completely dismantled.
