Cambodia Denies Reports of New Conflict, Calls Thai Media Claims Inaccurate

On March 24, a spokesperson for Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defense responded to reports from some Thai media, denying claims that Cambodia is preparing for a new round of conflict.

Cambodian authorities stated that the reports misinterpreted the country’s position based on remarks from Thai sources and clarified that the claims are unfounded.

The Cambodian military emphasized that it continues to act in accordance with existing agreements and mutual understandings between the two countries.

Based on these agreements, the military is working with the government to maintain peace and security along the border.

The spokesperson added that Cambodia supports resolving border issues through dialogue and negotiation under international law.

Cambodia reaffirmed its commitment to cooperation and restraint in maintaining long-term regional stability with Thailand.
