On February 10, a body dumping case was reported in Bavet City, Svay Rieng Province, after residents discovered a body wrapped in a black plastic bag along a roadside and alerted the police.

After receiving the report, Bavet police, acting on instructions from the provincial police chief, swiftly deployed investigators and identified suspects involved in transporting and abandoning the body within approximately two hours.

During the operation, officers intercepted a related vehicle at a villa, which was confirmed to be a white Toyota Land Cruiser bearing Phnom Penh license plates, located within Bavet City.

A search of the villa led to the discovery of 26 Chinese nationals, including one woman. Authorities preliminarily linked the individuals to telecom and online scam activities and seized eight computers on site.

All suspects and evidence have been taken into custody for further questioning. Police stated that legal responsibility will be pursued in accordance with the law, and efforts to combat cross-border scam crimes will continue.
