All transit operations will comply with Cambodia’s sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) regulations, Laos’ legal framework governing transit transportation, and relevant international standards, including those under the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC). As a next step, technical officials from both sides will continue consultations to determine specific border checkpoints, transport routes, cargo transfer locations, and operational procedures to ensure the agreement is implemented efficiently and promptly. The agreement is described as a new milestone in agricultural cooperation between Cambodia and Laos, reinforcing regional connectivity. Both sides also expressed their intention to expand cooperation in other potential areas, particularly mineral investment for agricultural fertilizer production and forest resource management.
